back tack wrap up

So, I'm a little late with this post, but better late than never!

(click on pictures for larger versions)

First, a little recap of the fabric I received fromKaren at kraf-o-la.squarespace.com (sorry, don't have the pictures of that on this computer) and the fabric that I sent to Katy at knitosaurusrex.blospot.com.

Here is what I made with the fabric to send to my back-tack recipient, Marne of heylucy.typepad.com

Here's a close-up of the cupcake pin cushion (from the craftster post) and the Blue Sky Alpacas knitters little helper hand balm - I bought a tin for myself and I love it (bought them both at Knit Happens in Old Town).

And here is a little better picture of the bag that I made (well the top part anyway).

It was hard to decide what to make, but since she travels between her main house and guest house (where the crafty space resides) with sewing projects, I thought a bag would be appropriate.

And finally, last, but certainly not least, is the package I received from Kim at www.dioramarama.com/kmel.

Here's a link to the pictures on flickr that she sent in. And here's a her description of the package. I love everything so much!

The apron is so cute, I want to wear it all the time!

Several highlights:

The iron pin cushion - so cute!

The spool knitter and pom-pom maker - definitely goes along with the bee theme!

There's more, but I don't have good individual pictures of everything. I'll just describe it all instead - the zippered pouch, heart stitch markers (yeah!), flower head pins (I actually sent some the heylucy too because I read on dioramarama that they are good for sewers - before I knew she was sending me my back tack surprise), iron-on transfers, a clover stitch riper, a long zippered straight needle pouch and beads.

Although I wouldn't have chosen the fabric for myself, I love it all put together and am very pleased with how everything came out.

I'm looking forward to the next back tack swap!

On a side note, I do not like my template at all. I will have to change it again one of these days.

Love what you made! Sorry, I didn't include more fabric for you to work on. (Didn't know you could). Love it!
