Sent and received

I am so in love with swaps right now. I'm even thinking of signing up for Scout's sock kit swap - and I don't knit socks (yet.) Why am I loving swaps so much? Well, you've already seen the back tack love I got from Laura. And today I got the greatest package from Linda, my Dye o Rama sender!

Here are all of the package contents (minus the lifesaver mints, which are in my bag already.) Along with my beeootiful yarn, Linda included a sock pattern booklet and dpns (trying to turn me into a sock knitter from afar!) and really, really cute shrinky dink stitch markers.

Here's a close-up of the yarn, which is definitely reminiscent of fall - like Linda intended.

The color in this picture is not so great - there is orange, green, brown, red and yellow in the real thing.

And here's a close-up of the shrinky dink stitch markers - all insects and so freakin' cute I can hardly stand it!

These are definitely going to be the ones I reach for first when I need stitch markers! And they are also making me want to break out the shrinky dinks, which I have actually been thinking about lately.

Thank you soooo much Linda! I love it all!!!

Now, as for the yarn I sent off (at the last possible moment - the deadline is today and I sent it off today!). It took me many, many tries to get it right and here is the final result -

My dye o rama recipient said that her favorite colors are pink, purple, blue and green - all of which I managed to get into this yarn, except for the green. I included some green stitch markers though to make up for it. I really hope she likes it!

I think Isaac has had enough of the dyeing in the house for awhile. I got a request to move everything from the kitchen to the spare bathroom (which I did). But when he saw this yarn, he didn't want me to send it off either!

See!!! That or he just wanted some attention and knew that kidnapping the yarn was the only way to get it...

Well, I'm off to sign up for the sock kit swap. I just can't help it!!! Plus this time around, the only thing I have to make is a project bag - and maybe some stitch markers.

Ummm... hello. I think you DID sign up for the sock kit swap, 'cause Beverly just sent me an email saying I'm your pal [smile]. Looks like fun! Now, you've got to answer the questionaire because we're traveling to England at the end of the week and I want to get your yarn there so it's well travelled! I'll be checking in on you!

Your swap pal
